Doctors in Emergency Medicine & Leadership Training in Africa

The formation of DELTA was proposed during the 2014 African Conference in Emergency Medicine in Ethiopia. It was formally established during the April 2015 Conference of the Emergency Medicine Society of South Africa (EMSSA) corresponding with the World Congress on Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WCDEM) in Cape Town, South Africa. Emergency medicine in Africa can only grow through networks and collaborations. DELTA is an opportunity for Residents to support emergency care development, improve their training and build lifelong partnerships.
